Libit: Our plans and goals

Libit: Our plans and goals

We want to ensure that we stay on track to be the best online IDE. So, here are all of our goals for Libit.

  • Online code editor for free, accessible to all: We strongly believe that programming should be accessible to everyone, no matter your age. That's why Libit will have a 100% free IDE available without an account. Just one click and you're ready to code.
  • Give people what they need: We want Libit to be the perfect platform with anything and everything programmers need to code. Instead of upping prices, we'll strive to help users out (VM giveaways, discounts, jams, and more).
(Want to suggest something? Head on over to Bibble!)
  • It's the users, not us: We only need money to fund this purpose; we aren't going to attempt to capitalize off of a half-working product. If Libit ever becomes too greedy, then it will be handed down to the users who will keep the mission in mind.
  • Reliability is key: One of the biggest flaws of our main competitor, Replit, is that it wasn't reliable. Pricing changes all the time, and even their "premium products" were just going down far too much.
That's why we've decided to steal the quote, "We are not in the business of building “unreliable but free” systems." Except, we aren't building "unreliable but paid" systems either.
  • Our purpose keeps us on-track: Replit has forgotten their former promises over recent years ("We want to support young developers", "The Hacker plan isn't going anywhere", "We are planning to remove the cc requirement for static deployments", etc.). The day these goals are no longer met is the day Libit is no longer Libit.

We hope you agree with us in that sticking to these goals will ensure Libit is the best it can be.

That's it for this post, stay tuned for more in the future!
